NitroBlast™ Gas-powered acoustic well stimulation tool
The NITROBLAST™ tool creates high-power, 190 dB (SPL), sound at 2-20 kHz to stimulate gas production from shallow wells. The sound pressure levels are comparable to those next to a military jet aircraft at takeoff. The high-intensity, high-frequency sound shakes the formation within a meter of the wellbore, loosening fines associated with drilling damage. The tool is powered with nitrogen or other inert gas so that the well remains underbalanced during stimulation ensuring that fines and debris are flushed into the wellbore and circulate to surface.
- Drilling damage removal from coal bed methane and shale completions
- Perforation damage removal
- Tight gas well stimulation
- Depleted well stimulation
- Stimulation during routine well unloading operations
Note: Operation is limited to shallow wells with a maximum bottomhole circulating pressure of 5 MPa (725 psi)
